The Township is governed by a Board of Supervisors consisting of three members all selected for six year terms, one term expiring every two years on December 31. Some of their responsibilities include making appropriations, levying taxes, adopting budgets, and adopting Ordinances and Resolutions to make rules and regulations. The Board meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 4:00 P.M. at the Municipal Building, 1285 Cobham Park Road, Warren, Pa.

The Board of Supervisors have appointed and contracted Construction Code Inspectors (CCI) for their Building Code Inspection Services.  CCI issue’s building permits and performs construction and electrical inspections. Building permits are required for most projects such as new homes, additions, alterations, basement remodeling, sunrooms, swimming pools, spas/hot tubs, decks, and accessory buildings larger than 150 square feet. Projects such as minor repairs of a non-structural nature, painting, carpeting, door and window replacement, and roofing do not require a building permit. Some projects such as small accessory buildings and fences require only a zoning permit. It is recommended that you contact CCI to confirm whether a permit is required for any planned projects.

This ordinance regulates the use, intensity of use, size and location of buildings, and other structures, as well as establishing regulations for land use by trades, industry, recreation and public activities. The provisions of the ordinance addresses all use of property, whether commercial or residential, including but not limited to buildings, fences, sheds, garages, signs, swimming pools, and in-home professional offices. Residents of Glade Township are required to pay a 1% earned income tax, which is assessed on all wages, salaries, commissions and profits. Any resident who is self-employed or whose employer does not withhold the 1% earned income tax must file quarterly an estimated declaration and make payments.  Everyone must file a yearly return by April 15 of the following year.
